Baseball Recap: Perkins Has No Trouble Against Norwalk

Perkins never let their opponents score on Wednesday. Everything went their way against the Norwalk Truckers as they made off with a 10-0 victory. Considering the Pirates have won seven matches by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

The result came thanks to Kash Koch's shutout, as he gave up just three hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Talon Walton, who went 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Davie, who went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base.

Perkins is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Norwalk, their defeat ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Perkins will face off against Huron at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. The Tigers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.7 runs per game this season, so the Pirates' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Norwalk, they will square off against Bellevue at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
