Even though the Boyd Yellowjackets scored an imposing 62 points on Tuesday, the Pilot Point Bearcats still came out on top. Pilot Point managed a 68-62 victory over Boyd. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Pilot Point.
Boyd's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Payton Boyer, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Trey Robinson, who scored 13 points.
Pilot Point's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-16. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.3 points per game. As for Boyd, they have not been sharp recently as the team's lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 14-18 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pilot Point will take on Valley View at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Boyd, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Callisburg at 6:30 p.m. Boyd is facing Callisburg at the right time seeing as Callisburg is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
