The St. Mary's Knights will square off against the Crismon Rattlers at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Having struggled with six defeats in a row, St. Mary's turned things around against Seaside on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Seagulls with a sharp 16-3 win. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Knights considering their two-run performance the matchup before.
Camilla Marquez spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on six hits.

On the hitting side, Giahni Ruiz was a standout: she went 2-for-5 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Analysa Mejia, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
St. Mary's was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Crismon). They blew past Combs 29-2 on Wednesday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rattlers.
Jaylie Tuturow looked comfortable as she struck out six batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Crismon got a massive performance out of Sophia Salvidar, who went 3-for-6 with four runs, two triples, and three RBI. Alee Grace Trunell was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-5.
Crismon's victory bumped their record up to 13-5. As for St. Mary's, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. St. Mary's has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Crismon struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
