Softball Recap: Dundee Finds Home Field Redemption Against Onsted

There's no place like home for Dundee, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They put the hurt on the Onsted Wildcats with a sharp 10-1 victory on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won five games by six runs or more so far this season.

Lauren Doane spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 14 Ks.

At the plate, Dundee let Kiernan Brown and Lacey Evans run wild. Brown went 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs, while Evans went 2-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Ella Rath, who earned one RBI, two runs, and two stolen bases.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Dundee kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in nine consecutive contests.

Dundee's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-7. As for Onsted, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-8 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dundee will welcome Manchester at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Vikings are facing the Flying Dutchmen at the right time seeing as the Flying Dutchmen are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Onsted, they will be playing at home against Michigan Center at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
