New Life Academy has won six straight games at home, while St. Agnes has won six straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Friday. The Eagles will welcome the Aggies at 4:30 p.m. New Life Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.5 runs per game this season.
New Life Academy had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 12-run drubbing they dealt St. Paul Academy-Summit on Thursday. The Eagles put the hurt on the Spartans with a sharp 14-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won five matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Nolan Wold made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing six innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off eight hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Gavin McCulloch was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That triple marked the first that he has hit this season. Noah Hahn was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Meanwhile, while St. Agnes put up some runs on Thursday, the same can't be said for St. Paul Central. The Aggies had just enough and edged out the Minutemen 1-0. The one-run effort marked the Aggies' lowest-scoring game of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.
Not much got past Josh Lopez, who gave up just three hits to keep St. Paul Central off the board.
New Life Academy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for St. Agnes, their win bumped their record up to 9-6.
New Life Academy skirted past St. Agnes 4-2 in their previous matchup back in April. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Aggies have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
