The St. John Tigers's game last Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They took down Ness City 56-41. That's another feather in the cap for St. John, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
When it comes to explaining why Ness City lost, one person who can't be blamed is William Childers. Despite the final result, he scored 18 points along with seven rebounds and two blocks. Childers is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last five games he's played. Broxton Gall was another key contributor, scoring four points along with six steals.
St. John now has a winning record of 7-6. As for Ness City, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-9.
St. John will take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Ellinwood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday. As for Ness City, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against the Thunderhawks at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. Wheatland-Grinnell is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
