The Cunningham Wildcats entered their tilt with the Norwich Eagles with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Cunningham skirted past the Eagles 55-52. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Cunningham also won the last time the pair played two weeks ago.
Leading Cunningham to victory were Will Wegerer and Luke Albers. Wegerer dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Albers scored 28 points along with five rebounds and three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wegerer has scored at least a third of Cunningham's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Sterneker, who scored two points along with six rebounds.
Cunningham is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Norwich, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5.
Cunningham will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Cougars at 7:30 p.m. As for Norwich, they will head out on the road to face off against the Chieftains on Monday. South Barber and the Eagles are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
