It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Wossman Wildcats had no problem doing just that on Friday. They strolled past Brusly with points to spare, taking the game 26-7. The win was just what Wossman needed coming off of a 38-15 defeat in their prior contest.
Wossman can attribute much of their success to Antron Mason jr, who rushed for 174 yards and a touchdown while picking up 8.7 yards per carry. Another player making a difference was Tristen Wooten, who threw for 90 yards and two touchdowns.
When it comes to explaining why Brusly lost, one person who can't be blamed is Cody Loupe. Despite the final result, he rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. Loupe really tore up the turf during one magnificent 80-yard run.
Wossman is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2 record this season. As for Brusly, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-7-1.
Wossman will head out on the road to face off against Northwest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Northwest's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last four games. Brusly does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
