The Austin Prep Cougars's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell just short of Rocky Hill Country Day by a score of 56-53.
Rocky Hill Country Day got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Lily Sokol out in front who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Addison Mahar, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Austin Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Rocky Hill Country Day, their victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-6.
Austin Prep will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on the Lions at 6:00 p.m. on December 29th. As for Rocky Hill Country Day, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against the at 5:00 p.m.
