Liberty is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Oak Hill is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Raiders will welcome the Red Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Liberty is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.2 runs per game this season.
Liberty came out on top against Summers County on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run first inning. The Raiders blew past the Bobcats 16-1. Considering the Raiders have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Maddie Toler was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Toler was also big at the plate, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs. That's the most runs she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, Alyssa Scarbro was a standout: she went 2-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Stella Brown was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI.
Liberty kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They are 8-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Shady Spring hit Oak Hill with a nine-run sixth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Red Devils lost 12-1 to the Tigers. The defeat continues a trend for the Red Devils in their meetings with the Tigers: they've now lost nine in a row.
Mary Butcher spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered 12 runs (all of which were unearned) on 11 hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Oak Hill saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Amy Hollandsworth, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.
Liberty is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Oak Hill, their loss dropped their record down to 12-10.
Wednesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Liberty hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .362. However, it's not like Oak Hill struggles in that department as they've averaged .313. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Liberty's way against Oak Hill when the teams last played back in April of 2024, as Liberty made off with a 14-2 win. Do the Raiders have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Red Devils turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
