East Surry had won two straight  games  and  Nathan Kiger did his part to make it three on Friday. The Cardinals walked away with  a   20-8  win over the North Surry Greyhounds  with plenty of help from  Kiger, who rushed for 192 yards and two  touchdowns while picking up 10.1 yards per carry. East Surry is 3-1 when  Kiger posts 80 or  more  rushing yards, but 0-3 otherwise.
 East Surry didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of  Dakota Buntin and  Aidan Harpe.
 When it comes to explaining why North Surry lost, don't look at  David Schuyler. Despite the final result, he rushed for 93 yards and one  TD on only nine carries.  Zamarri Sweatman helped out on the ground, rushing for 106 yards.
East Surry picked up their first road  victory, bumping their record up to 3-4. As for North Surry,  this is the second loss in a row for them and  nudges their season record down to 4-3.
 East Surry has already played their next contest,  a  47-28  defeat against West Stokes on the 17th. As for North Surry, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next  matchup,  a  42-15  win against Surry Central on the 17th.
