Tompkins waltzed into their game on Tuesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. Everything went their way against the Paetow Panthers as they made off with a 3-0 victory. The Falcons have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Panthers, too.
Tompkins never let Paetow on the board, but things got pretty close in the third set. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-12, 25-22.
Lainey Monroe was the offensive standout of the contest as she had four digs and four aces. That's the most aces she has posted since back in September of 2024. Ava Johnk also deserves some recognition as she served her first aces of the season.
They weren't the only good server: Tompkins was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive matches.
Tompkins' win bumped their record up to 14-3. As for Paetow, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.
Coming up, Tompkins will face off against Liberty Hill at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday. As for Paetow, they will be taking part in a tournament against Brazoswood at 10:15 a.m. on Thursday.
