Greenbrier Christian Academy relied on the efforts of Bayleigh Kaliher, who went 10 for 17 on her way to 23 points along with five assists and three steals, and Katelyn Balka, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 17 rebounds. Greenbrier Christian Academy is 8-1 when Balka posts ten or more boards, but 2-3 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Livia Smith, who posted six points and four steals.
Greenbrier Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in seven consecutive games.
Meanwhile, StoneBridge made easy work of Denbigh Baptist Christian on Thursday and carried off a 33-13 win. The Cavaliers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season.
Greenbrier Christian Academy better keep an eye on Mikaylah Telfer. She was instrumental in StoneBridge's win, dropping a double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds. Telfer is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games she's played. Sarah Busby was another key player, putting up eight points and three steals.
Greenbrier Christian Academy's victory bumped their record up to 10-4. As for StoneBridge, their win bumped their record up to 14-2.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Greenbrier Christian Academy has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 33.9 boards per game. However, it's not like StoneBridge struggles in that department as they've been averaging 30.3 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
