The Scranton Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Mid Valley Spartans at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Scranton is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Last Monday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Scranton beat Wyoming Valley West 44-38. Given Scranton's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 61st, while Wyoming Valley West is ranked 321st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Mid Valley took their game at home on Tuesday with ease, bagging a 53-14 victory over Lake-Lehman. With Mid Valley ahead 40-9 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Jakob Lesher and Richard Vinansky were among the main playmakers for Mid Valley as the former scored ten points along with four steals and the latter scored 16 points. Those four steals set a new season-high mark for him. Demaja Dunston was another key contributor, scoring nine points.
Scranton's record now sits at 3-0. As for Mid Valley, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.
Scranton came up short against Mid Valley in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 57-45. Thankfully for Scranton, Danny Nemitz (who scored 14 points along with six rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
