Campbell County is 10-0 against the Bison since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Campbell County Camels will head out on the road to take on the South Bison at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Campbell County has three straight wins, the Bison have five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Campbell County faced the Bolts in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Campbell County put the hurt on the Bolts with a sharp 71-47 victory. Campbell County's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Campbell County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cami Curtis, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. Curtis is trending in the right direction, as she's improved her point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Kuhbacher, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, South suffered a tough 54-32 loss at the hands of the Plainsmen on Thursday.
Campbell County pushed their record up to 9-5 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.7 points per game. As for South, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Campbell County against the Bison in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 82-37 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Campbell County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
