Softball Recap: Steele Snaps Three-Game Streak of Losses at Home

Steele's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the San Marcos Rattlers a 10-0 shutout. Considering the Knights have won seven contests by more than five runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Avery BrAdy was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. The dominant performance gave her a new career-low in hits. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

In other batting news, Alexandria Salinas was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Those two runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alyssa Vicenty, who scored two runs and stole Three bases. while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.

Steele's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 11-8. As for San Marcos, they now have a losing record of 9-10-2.

Coincidentally, Steele and San Marcos will both be playing Canyon the next time they take the field. Steele will head out to face Canyon at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, while San Marcos will host them at 7:00 p.m. on March 21st.
