The DeSoto Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Jefferson Blue Jays at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Last Monday, DeSoto was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 40-36 to Potosi. DeSoto has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Jefferson kicked off their season on the road on Monday and hit a couple of potholes. They suffered a tough 53-28 defeat at the hands of Sullivan.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Grace Neels, who scored 6 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 blocks. Megan Wood was another key contributor, scoring 3 points along with 10 rebounds and 4 steals.
DeSoto's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
DeSoto came up short against Jefferson in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, falling 45-37. Can DeSoto avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
