Given Leuzinger's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 215th, while Inglewood is ranked 497th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leuzinger's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Joshua Garland, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and ten rebounds. Malachi Knight was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with six rebounds.
Leuzinger is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 13 matches, which provided a massive bump to their 18-7 record this season. As for Inglewood, their loss dropped their record down to 11-11.
Leuzinger will be playing in front of their home fans against Beverly Hills at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Leuzinger is on a five-game streak of home wins, Beverly Hills a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. As for Inglewood, they will head out on the road to square off against Hawthorne at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
