The Fike Demons and the Seventy-First Falcons squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Fike Demons had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a rough 48-0 loss at the hands of the Falcons. Fike's defeat signaled the end of their seven-game winning streak.
Cameron Pittman threw for 117 yards on seven of 18 attempts. DJ Jones was his top target, picking up 75 receiving yards. On the ground, Bud Woodard rushed for 52 yards.
Seventy-First's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Donavan Frederick led the charge by rushing for 205 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries. Another player making a difference was Deandre Nance, who rushed for 68 yards and three touchdowns.
Fike's loss dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Seventy-First, they pushed their record up to 13-0 with that victory, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.
Fike does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Seventy-First will look to defend their home field on Friday against Southern Alamance at 7:00 p.m. Southern Alamance is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
