Basketball Recap: Clearfield Piles Up the Points Against Roy

You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Clearfield's strategy against Roy on Wednesday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Clearfield Falcons blew the Roy Royals out of the water with a 61-33 final score. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven matchups by 21 points or more this season.

It was another big night for Isabelle Wyaskett, who went 6 for 15 en route to 15 points along with five boards and five steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last 12 games she's played. Another player making a difference was Xiyah Yarbrough, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 10 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Clearfield was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Roy only posted four assists.

Despite the loss, Roy still got an impressive performance from Jerzee Hart, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 boards. Talyeah Valdez also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Clearfield pushed their record up to 15-5 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Roy, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.

Clearfield will be playing at home against Bountiful at 5:15 p.m. on Friday. Bountiful will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Clearfield surely won't give up without a fight. As for Roy, they will head out on the road to square off against Woods Cross at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
