Vito Tambasco was the top pitcher in 5A District 7 this week, leading
Nature Coast Tech. He racked up 12 strike outs this week.
Top honors in the league this week go to
Hernando, which finished with three wins overall, good for best in the league. The Leopards beat
Central 1-0 and
Braden River 5-0.
Although
Dunnellon surrendered only two walks this week, the lowest number in the league over that span, Hernando is still tops for the season with just 28 walks over 69 innings this year.
Nine batters hit over .400 this week. They were led by Chris Okey, who hit .750 this week (3-for-4).
The Leopards'
Trae Ratliff threw seven shutout innings in a 4-0 win over the Tigers on Tuesday. He struck out six, allowing three hits.
