Byrd might have drawn first blood against Richlands on Friday, but it was Richlands who got the last laugh. Byrd didn't finish too far behind, but the team still lost 21-27 to Richlands. Byrd were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Richlands apparently hadn't forgotten their loss from the last time the teams met up.
The defeat dropped Byrd's record to 4-1. The win got Richlands back to even at 2-2.
Byrd will stay at home next week against Fleming at 7:00 PM. Both of those teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'. Richlands will look to defend their home turf against Bluefield at 7:00 PM. Both teams come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous games.
