It was a good run, but the Evansville Reitz Panthers unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell just short of Castle by a score of 52-49. Evansville Reitz lost against Castle in their previous head to head back in January of 2023, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 61-56 score last time.
When it comes to explaining why Evansville Reitz lost, one person who can't be blamed is Norah Miller. Despite the final result, she scored 18 points along with four steals. The matchup was Miller's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Kaelyse Mitchell was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Evansville Reitz's loss dropped their record down to 11-3. As for Castle, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Evansville Reitz will take on Princeton at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Castle, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Bedford North Lawrence at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Bedford North Lawrence focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up seven on Wednesday.
