The St. John Fighting Herald can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent game on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 59-16 victory over Lordstown at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 41-8.
St. John's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was alyssa cevera, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 17 rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which cevera has scored at least a third of St. John's points. gracie disalvatore was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds.
The win makes it two in a row for St. John and bumps their season record up to 7-9. As for Lordstown, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-16.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. John's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Maplewood at 5:30 p.m. on January 29th. Hopefully Maplewood focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 22 last Saturday. As for Lordstown, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Chalker at 5:30 p.m. Chalker is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
