On Saturday, Wagner didn't have too much trouble with ThunderRidge on the road as they won 63-49. The win was all the more spectacular given Wagner's disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 43rd in Texas, while ThunderRidge is ranked ninth in Colorado).
Wagner's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marcus Johnson, who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emante West, who scored nine points along with seven rebounds.
ThunderRidge lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Andrew Crawford, who scored 11 points along with three steals. The contest was Crawford's fifth in a row with at least ten points. Tommy Wight was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
The win makes it two in a row for Wagner and bumps their season record up to 10-4. As for ThunderRidge, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.
Wagner will head out on the road to face off against Cole at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Cole focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Saturday. As for ThunderRidge, they will be playing at home against George Washington at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
