Baseball Recap: Plaza Heights Christian Academy Find Success

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Veritas Christian, Plaza Heights Christian Academy was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on Christian Fellowship with a sharp 13-7 victory. The Lions have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw Christian Fellowship, too.

Bowen Marsinek and Owen Patterson did most of the damage at the plate: Marsinek scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3, while Patterson scored three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Those three runs gave Patterson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ryder Johann, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances.

Plaza Heights Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .548. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Christian Fellowship only posted an OBP of .364.

Plaza Heights Christian Academy's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-2. As for Christian Fellowship, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Plaza Heights Christian Academy will face off against rival Braymer at 5:30 p.m. on the 18th. Meanwhile, Christian Fellowship is set to take on their familiar foe Gateway Legacy Christian Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
