It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Ouachita Christian Eagles had no problem doing just that on Friday. They breezed by Westminster Christian Academy on the road to the tune of 56-7. Considering Ouachita Christian has won nine contests by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Ouachita Christian's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Luke Vidrine, who threw for 269 yards and four touchdowns on only 13 passes. The team also got some help courtesy of Tate Hamby, who picked up 138 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
The win was the fourth in a row for Ouachita Christian, bringing their record for this year to 10-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 49.5 points per game. As for Westminster Christian Academy, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
Ouachita Christian will be playing at home against St. Mary at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. St. Mary will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Louisiana Rankings (they are ranked 119th, while Ouachita Christian is ranked 32nd). Westminster Christian Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
