Basketball Game Preview: Pleasant Ridge Rams vs. Jefferson County North Chargers

The Pleasant Ridge Rams will venture away from home to square off against the Jefferson County North Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pleasant Ridge is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56 points per game this season.

On Tuesday, Pleasant Ridge ended up a good deal behind Riverside [Wathena/Elwood] and lost 61-43. The Rams have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Despite their loss, Pleasant Ridge saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Brady Mance, who posted ten points along with six rebounds and five blocks, was perhaps the best of all. Mance has been hot, having posted two or more blocks the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Hudson Hockett, who earned eight points and six rebounds.

Meanwhile, Jefferson County North came up short against Tonganoxie on Friday and fell 65-55.

Jefferson County North's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 0-2. As for Pleasant Ridge, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Pleasant Ridge took a serious blow against Jefferson County North when the teams last played back in January, falling 56-26. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Pleasant Ridge was down 35-11.
