After soaring to 32 points the game before, The Council Grove Braves were a bit more limited in their matchup on Friday. They took a 15-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of Osage City. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Council Grove in their matchups with Osage City: they've now lost eight in a row.
Luke Stewart threw for 119 yards and a touchdown. Kolby Rose was his top target, picking up 41 receiving yards. On the ground, Blaise French rushed for 91 yards.
Kasen Parsons was his usual excellent self, rushing for 73 yards and a touchdown on only six carries, while also throwing for 125 yards and a touchdown. Cooper Parsons and his 84 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Osage City's win.
Council Grove's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Osage City, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.
Council Grove does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Osage City is on the road again on Friday and play against Nemaha Central at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. Nemaha Central presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Osage City in Kansas (Nemaha Central is ranked 29th, while Osage City is ranked 85th).
