On Friday, The Real Life Christian Academy Raptors faced the Lake Mary Prep Griffins in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Real Life Christian Academy was beaten by Lake Mary Prep 34-6. Having soared to a lofty 61 points in the game before, Real Life Christian Academy couldn't push the score so high this time.
Real Life Christian Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performance. Perhaps the best among them was Tysen Miller , who rushed for 113 yards, and also threw for 47 yards and a touchdown. Miller was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 64 yards.
Leading Lake Mary Prep to victory were Crete Emerton and Wade Brashears. Emerton threw for 162 yards and four touchdowns, while Brashears rushed for 149 yards and a touchdown on only 13 carries. Brashears is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played.
Real Life Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Lake Mary Prep, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
Real Life Christian Academy will be playing at home against Sports Leadership & Management at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sports Leadership & Management is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. Lake Mary Prep does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
