Lehi is 2-8 against Pleasant Grove since April of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The Pioneers will challenge the Vikings at 11:00 a.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Lehi is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They put the hurt on Corner Canyon with a sharp 10-2 win. The Pioneers not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since April 9th (when they won 15-4).

Sean Mcafee tossed a big game, tossing five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mays Madsen, who went 1-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. Lehi is undefeated when Madsen posts three or more RBI, but 10-13 otherwise. Gavin Yates was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Pleasant Grove waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They never let the Grizzlies get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Vikings might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 15 games by six runs or more this season.
C.J. Anderson and Mason Hawk Henry made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Anderson tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Henry pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. At bat, Anderson got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI, while Henry went 1-for-2 with one home run.
In other batting news, R.J. Wilson was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Nash Bennett, who went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.
Pleasant Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .531. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Copper Hills only posted an OBP of .167.
Lehi is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-13 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Pleasant Grove, their record now sits at 23-4.
Monday's match might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Lehi has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .445. However, it's not like Pleasant Grove struggles in that department as they've averaged .476. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Lehi might still be hurting after the 9-3 defeat they got from Pleasant Grove in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Can the Pioneers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
