Radford and Waipahu are an even 5-5 against one another since March of 2019, but likely not for long. The Rams will venture away from home to take on the Marauders at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Radford's pitching crew has only allowed 1.4 runs per game this season, so Waipahu's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Radford is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Hawaii's top teams: Nanakuli, who was ranked first at the time (Radford was ranked third). The Rams fell just short of the Golden Hawks by a score of 9-8 on Wednesday. The Rams haven't had much luck with the Golden Hawks recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.

Radford got a massive performance out of Si'Itia Baughn, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Baughn has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Meghan Castro, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run.
Waipahu not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 10th (when they won 23-11). They put the hurt on Waialua with a sharp 19-8 win. The game was the first time the Marauders have beaten the Bulldogs on their field since March 26, 2022.
Arianna Matavao was a standout: she got on base in four of her five plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Haylee Ah Keni was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run.
Waipahu always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .690. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Waipahu's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 5-6-1. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 18.3 runs over those games. As for Radford, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 9-1.
Everything went Radford's way against Waipahu when the teams last played back in March, as Radford made off with a 25-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Rams since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
