The Joliet West Tigers will venture away from home to square off against the Romeoville Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Joliet West has 15 straight victories, Romeoville has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
It was a proper cat-fight when Joliet West faced off against Oswego on Tuesday. The Tigers skirted past the Panthers 2-1.
Joliet West had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 25-10, 25-22.

Joliet West relied on the efforts of Eden Eyassu, who had 20 digs and two assists, and Lola Berta, who had four digs and two aces. That's the most digs Eyassu has posted since back in September.
Meanwhile, Romeoville came up short against Plainfield South on Tuesday and fell 2-0.
The match finished with set scores of 25-14, 25-19.
Joliet West's win bumped their record up to 31-3. As for Romeoville, their loss dropped their record down to 8-26.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's match: Joliet West has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 5.4 aces per game. However, it's not like Romeoville struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
