The College Park Cavaliers will head out on the road to challenge the Conroe Tigers at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully College Park focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Saturday.
College Park can now show off nine landslide victories after their most recent contest. They blew past New Caney 52-21 at home. Given College Park's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 502nd, while the Eagles are ranked 1036th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Brooke Smith was a one-man wrecking crew for College Park as she scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Smith has been hot recently, having posted four or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Katie Westwood, who scored 14 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Conroe scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They breezed by Cleveland on the road to the tune of 66-35. Winning may never get old, but Conroe sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
College Park's win bumped their record up to 17-13. As for Conroe, the win got them back to even at 14-14.
Everything went College Park's way against the Tigers in their previous meeting back in January as the Cavaliers made off with a 43-22 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for College Park since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
