WPIAL AA Allegheny Top Player Performances of the Week
Congratulations to this week's top players! We're covering the best performances from Friday's football action (using all statistics entered as of the time of writing). Enjoy!
Epps Came Up Big in South Allegheny's 56-22 Win
Starting off the list is South Allegheny's Cameron Epps, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. Epps rushed for 173 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. He was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 61 yards.
Epps must have Shady Side Academy's number; he was a force to be reckoned with the last time he faced them too. Epps rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown the last time he and the Bulldogs duked it out back in September of 2023.

Big Game from Jablunovsky As Ligonier Valley Won 20-14
Winning always takes teamwork, but on Friday John Jablunovsky stepped things up a notch to give Ligonier Valley the 'W'. Jablunovsky was unstoppable, rushing for 194 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.2 yards per carry. He has become a key player for Ligonier Valley: the team is 3-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise.
Ligonier Valley's victory ended a five-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-4. Jablunovsky and Ligonier Valley will square off against South Park at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Steel Valley Wins Third-Straight Thanks to Donald Barksdale
Donald Barksdale's big game helped extend Steel Valley's winning streak to three on Friday. Barksdale was unstoppable, rushing for 165 yards and three touchdowns on only seven carries. He really tore up the turf during one magnificent 74-yard run.
Unfortunately for Apollo Ridge, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Barksdale. Back in September of 2023 (the last time Barksdale saw the Vikings), he rushed for 202 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 8.8 yards per carry.
