Last Friday, everything went North Stanly's way against Mount Pleasant as North Stanly made off with a 46-21 win. Given North Stanly's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 157th, while Mount Pleasant is ranked 339th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
North Stanly's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Lexie Brown, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds, and Shalyn Bell, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 15 rebounds. Bell is crushing the rebound category: she's posted at least ten every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Allie Morgan, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Albemarle humbled Gray Stone Day with a 76-39 victory.
North Stanly's victory bumped their record up to 17-3. As for Albemarle, their win bumped their record up to 18-3.
