The Panther Valley Panthers lost against the North Schuylkill Spartans back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. Panther Valley received a tough blow as they fell 55-40 to North Schuylkill. Panther Valley has not had much luck with North Schuylkill recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Despite the loss, Panther Valley still got an impressive performance from Drew Kokinda, who scored 15 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Kokinda scored 15 or more points. Logan Fisher was another key contributor, scoring four points along with eight rebounds.
Zane Zulkowski continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for North Schuylkill, scoring 18 points along with nine rebounds. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Zulkowski has scored at least 25% of North Schuylkill's points. Another player making a difference was Jack Keiter, who scored ten points.
Panther Valley's defeat dropped their record down to 4-3. As for North Schuylkill, their win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Panther Valley will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Marian Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on December 28th. As for North Schuylkill, they will head out on the road to face off against Shenandoah Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Shenandoah Valley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 664th, while North Schuylkill is ranked 250th).
