Walther Christian Academy had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 13-2 margin over the Northtown Pumas. The result was nothing new for the Broncos, who have now won five contests by seven runs or more so far this season.
Isabella Ziupsnys made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out 13 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, two RBI, and one double. That double was her first of the season.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Selah Argueta, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, three doubles, and three RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in May of 2024. Walther Christian Academy kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.1 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 9.2.
