New Lothrop is 0-4 against Goodrich since February of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Monday. The New Lothrop Hornets will head out on the road to square off against the Goodrich Martians at 7:00 p.m. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with New Lothrop sitting on three straight victories and Goodrich on 17.
In what's become a running theme this season, New Lothrop gave their fans yet another huge win on Wednesday. They put the hurt on Chesaning with a sharp 53-32 win. Given New Lothrop's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 147th, while Chesaning is ranked 496th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Goodrich scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They claimed a resounding 73-29 win over Brandon on the road. Goodrich has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 12 matchups by 20 points or more this season.
New Lothrop's win bumped their record up to 10-5. As for Goodrich, they pushed their record up to 17-0 with that victory, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
New Lothrop might still be hurting after the 53-28 defeat they got from Goodrich in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Can New Lothrop avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
