The Desert Hills Thunder's's homestand continues as they prepare to take on the Lehi Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th. Desert Hills will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Utah Rankings (they are ranked 83rd, while Lehi is ranked tenth).
Desert Hills struggled with three-point shooting accuracy two weeks ago (Salem Hills was 36% better) and sadly the final score reflected it. Desert Hills took a hard 51-34 fall against Salem Hills.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Jenna Brown, who scored eight points. Another player making a difference was Jacie Riding, who scored 12 points.
Meanwhile, Lehi earned a 54-42 victory over Hurricane on Thursday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Lehi.
It was another big night for Addy Scrivner, who scored 16 points. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Lehi's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ellie Hill, who scored nine points.
Desert Hills now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Lehi, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.
Keep an eye on the arc in Friday's matchup: Desert Hills have been dynamite from deep this season, having only nailed 30% of their threes per game. It's a different story for Lehi, though, as they've only nailed 29.9% of their threes per game this season. Given Desert Hills' sizeable advantage in that area, Lehi will need to find a way to close that gap.
