The Rowe-Clark Masai Lions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They fell to Butler 63-59. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Rowe-Clark in their matchups with Butler: they've now lost five in a row.
When it comes to explaining why Rowe-Clark lost, one person who can't be blamed is Arnez Jones. Despite the final result, he scored 29 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Jones has scored all season. Artez Jones was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Danny Bennett was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points for Butler. That makes it seven consecutive games in which Bennett has scored at least a third of Butler's points. Another player making a difference was Jamal Small, who scored 13 points.
Rowe-Clark's loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 2-8. As for Butler, their win ended a three-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 7-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rowe-Clark will take on Bulls College Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Butler, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Johnson at 5:30 p.m.
