On Friday, the Shadow Ridge Mustangs faced the Desert Pines Jaguars in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Shadow Ridge skirted past Desert Pines 62-60. The win was familiar territory for Shadow Ridge who now have three in a row.
Leading Shadow Ridge to victory were Zh'mya Martin and Jaslyn Jefferson. Martin scored 19 points, while Jefferson scored 23 points.
Shadow Ridge's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Desert Pines, their defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 13-5.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Shadow Ridge will square off against Clark at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Clark has now lost seven straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 29. As for Desert Pines, they will head out on the road to square off against Bishop Gorman at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Bishop Gorman focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 last Thursday.
