Softball Recap: Shorecrest Prep Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Shorecrest Prep, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Admiral Farragut BlueJackets on Wednesday as they made off with a 15-1 victory. Considering the Chargers have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Samantha Beltran made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit (and not a single walk). Beltran was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two triples, two stolen bases, and three runs. Those two triples gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Paige Conroy was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Madi Bidwell, who went 2-for-4 with four stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.

Shorecrest Prep always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .581. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Admiral Farragut only posted an OBP of .118.

Shorecrest Prep's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-6. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Admiral Farragut, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-12.

As of now, neither Shorecrest Prep nor the BlueJackets have any future games scheduled.
