On Saturday, Strawberry Crest suffered a rough 77-53 defeat at the hands of Manatee.
Strawberry Crest lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Chris Ramirez, who scored eight points along with six steals. Those six steals set a new season-high mark for him. Abe Craig was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.
Strawberry Crest's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Manatee, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-9.
Strawberry Crest will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Tampa Bay Tech at 8:00 p.m. on January 9th. Tampa Bay Tech presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Strawberry Crest in Florida (Tampa Bay Tech is ranked 286th, while Strawberry Crest is ranked 742nd). As for Manatee, they will be playing at home against Saint Stephen's Episcopal at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
