Kyle Cox Dazzles in Sandhills/Thedford Win
Sandhills/Thedford picked up their 17th consecutive win on Friday thanks in part to Kyle Cox. Cox did his part (and then some), rushing for 184 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.5 yards per carry, and also throwing for 72 yards and two touchdowns for the 'W'. His rushing production has been exceptional for a while as that marked his 21st straight game with at least 119 rushing yards dating back to last season.
Unfortunately for Hyannis, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Cox. Cox rushed for 152 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries, and also picked up 75 receiving yards and three touchdowns the last time he and the Longhorns duked it out back in September of 2023.

Big Game from Kvanvig As Mullen Won 78-12
Tate Kvanvig was a major factor in Mullen's victory over Bayard on Thursday. Kvanvig turned in nothing short of a gem, rushing for 96 yards and four touchdowns on only seven carries. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up two sacks, forcing a fumble, and making four total tackles.
Mullen's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-2. Kvanvig and Mullen will square off against Axtell at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.

Kole Jones Turns in Season-Best Effort
On Thursday, Maxwell got the W thanks in part to Kole Jones playing the best football he has all season. Jones rushed for 172 yards and four touchdowns on only eight carries, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now rushed for 105 or more in the last three games he's played.
For the season, Jones has run in 15 touchdowns while averaging 74.2 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 33 rushing yards per game.

Jesse Reyes Goes Supernova in Maxwell Victory
Another Maxwell player making an appearance on this list is Jesse Reyes. He rushed for 196 yards and three touchdowns on only 13 carries. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 167 rushing yards.
This year, Reyes has run in 17 touchdowns while averaging 119.5 rushing yards per game. He is looking even better than he did last year: after eight games last season, he was only averaging 50.13 rushing yards per game.

Mullen was led to victory by Alex Werner, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Thursday. Werner's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 106 rushing yards.
On the season, Werner has run in 14 touchdowns while averaging 121.2 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 7.38 rushing yards per game.
