The Ridgevue Warhawks will head out on the road to challenge the Timberline Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Ridgevue comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Ridgevue is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They lost 26-14 to Borah on Friday. While the Warhawks didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Lions 9-0 in the first period.
Hannah Rogers was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Bristol Baron also deserves some recognition as she scored her first runs of the season.
Meanwhile, Timberline faced Rocky Mountain in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Wolves never let the Grizzlies get on the board and left with a 16-0 win. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by six runs or more this season.
Delaney Wright made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 14 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 14 consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, firing off three home runs and seven RBI while going 4-for-4. What's more, she posted three runs, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Ashlyn Graklanoff, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Ivy Norskog was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one double.
Timberline lost a few balls and finished the game with four home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
The victory made it two in a row for Timberline and bumps their season record up to 13-3. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Ridgevue, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-16.
Ridgevue might still be hurting after the 14-4 loss they got from Timberline in their previous meeting back in March of 2023. Can the Warhawks avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
