Twin Peaks Classical Academy took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They breezed by Poudre Community Academy to the tune of 66-35. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 39-16.
Twin Peaks Classical Academy's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jace Ross, who posted nine points and three steals. Braden Morris was another key player, putting up eight points and five boards.
Twin Peaks Classical Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in seven consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Ascent Classical Academy lost 62-40 to Two Roads Charter School on Wednesday.
Twin Peaks Classical Academy will need focus on slowing down Vann Rogers, one of several Ascent Classical Academy players who made an impact when they last played. He went 5 of 10 on his way to 11 points in addition to six rebounds and five steals. Rogers is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jack Colberg, who had nine points and three steals.
Twin Peaks Classical Academy has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.8 points per game. As for Ascent Classical Academy, they dropped their record down to 4-9 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Twin Peaks Classical Academy has been crashing the boards this season, having averaged 33.6 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Ascent Classical Academy struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27 boards.
