Basketball Recap: Pamlico Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Pamlico Christian Academy lost against Bethel Christian Academy back in February and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Pamlico Christian Academy Mariners were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 38-37 to the Bethel Christian Academy Trojans.

Despite the loss, Pamlico Christian Academy still got an impressive performance from Max Cruz, who went 5 for 9 on his way to 10 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. What's more, Cruz also racked up three blocks, the most he's had since back in February. Noah Hayward was another key player, putting up seven points.

Even though they lost, Pamlico Christian Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Pamlico Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 12-3. As for Bethel Christian Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-5.

Pamlico Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 61-9 win against Fellowship Christian Academy on the 17th. As for Bethel Christian Academy, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Wilmington Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
