The Cozad Haymakers won the last time they faced the Maxwell Wildcats, and things went their way on Saturday too. Cozad simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Maxwell 65-15 on the road. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-8.
Olliver Davis was a one-man wrecking crew for Cozad as he scored 20 points along with 7 steals. Another player making a difference was Mason Fales, who scored 8 points along with 4 steals.
Cozad's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Maxwell, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cozad will take on Hershey at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Maxwell, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Hi-Line [Eustis-Farnam/Elwood] on Tuesday.
