Homedale is a perfect 9-0 against New Plymouth since April of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Trojans will face off against the Pilgrims at 5:00 p.m. Homedale is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.6 runs per game this season.
On Wednesday, Homedale needed a bit of extra time to put away Weiser. They skirted past the Wolverines 9-7. The victory was familiar territory for the Trojans, who have now won three matches in a row.

Xavier Uranga was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 3-for-4. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last five games he's played. Lukas Hall also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.
Meanwhile, New Plymouth hadn't done well against Melba recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Pilgrims came out on top in a nail-biter against the Mustangs, sneaking past 13-12. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Pilgrims.
The team relied heavily on Kaden Hawker, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. New Plymouth is 8-3 when Hawker posts two or more runs, but 2-4 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Hartle, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-4.
New Plymouth's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.5 runs over those games. As for Homedale, their record now sits at 14-4.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Homedale has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like New Plymouth struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 5.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Homedale's way against New Plymouth when the teams last played two weeks ago, as Homedale made off with a 20-12 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Trojans since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
